Coaching skills training covers all the important aspects of inspiring and encouraging team members to work cohesively and communicate effectively to achieve even better results for the business, their teams, and themselves.

  • Learning the basics of human interaction and development.
  • Understanding yourself to understand others better.
  • Developing the ability to actively listen to others and to your intuition.
  • Knowing when to ask the powerful question.
  • Creating awareness among team members.

With thanks to Jan Elfline at Aligned Action International, for most generously giving us permission to adapt her original program.

We’re committed to developing the next generation of coaches, whether independent coaches or employees sponsored by their organisations. If you would like to offer Coach Training in-house or as an addition to your existing range of public courses, talk to us about how we can develop a course structure that suits you.

Partnering a Pathway to Success

As coaches, we often wonder how successful we are and how to identify the value of our coaching sessions. In this module we will explore the benefits of a complete coaching agreement, establishing the coaching relationship and what impact it can have to your clients and the quality of your coaching.

Coaching Beyond the One to One Conversation

During this module we will focus on two themes: (1) Deepening our skill of coaching more than one client at a time (for example in 2-to-1 and team coaching) and also (2) creating the tender that is successful for you and your clients. Developing our business skill is as important as our coaching competencies.

Aligning Emotion and Identity

Coaching is not just for the neck up! There is valuable wisdom neck down in the body. This expresses itself differently and often without words. Unlocking the meaning of emotion can be powerful. Our clients are often most vulnerable when they are feeling strong emotions. Being present with the client during this emotional state builds deep trust.

Your Unique Coaching For Successful Results

An experiential session with equal time allocated to training, coaching demonstrations, coaching practice in different group mixes and QandA, feedback and collegiate discussions.

To enable a deeper understanding of the core competencies (CC) and ethics involved in successful coaching. Focusing primarily on CC:

  • #4 Coach Presence
  • #5 Active Listening
  • #6 Powerful Questioning

All this is based on the principle of coaching in the moment and being present to your client. Knowing through a thorough understanding of the CC that in this zone, active listening and powerful questions will come to bring a client closer to their outcomes. In summary: Our clients do not just buy coaching… they buy YOU coaching and so how can you be the best UNIQUE coach for them

Whether you’re new to coaching, renewing your credentials or are seeking to host a short coach training course, each CCE unit is designed with you and your needs in mind, engaging your potential to be a successful coach.

This is an example of an ICF-approved 2.5 day, 17 CCEUs training session:

Insights and Awareness

How your presence and listening can impact the quality of your coaching and affect the outcomes for your clients. As we learn to listen with precision for language patterns that reveal the deep structure of a person’s experience, we find ways to shape our questions to be more powerful. With language, we invite the client into an awareness of the structure of their thoughts, not just the content of the story.

Objectives will include exploring the world we create inside our heads and define the thinker who creates that thought. From knowing this how can we create transformational change required by the client to their being and behaviour

Content includes:

  • Understanding your stories, patterns and programmes
  • Acknowledging internal dialogue
  • Distinguishing your client’s language clues
  • Coaching beliefs language

Module outcomes:

  • Knowing your clients thinking, being and doing patterns
  • Listening with precision
  • Identifying patterns
  • Changing behaviours and ways for being and thinking

Coach Training: Strategies for Success will be delivered in-person or virtually by the Director of Training, Saima Butt, Change Advantage Ltd. Saima is a Master Certified Coach with the ICF.

Contact Saima about CCE units

Saima brings her years of experience as an Executive Coach and a Certified Mentor Coach to deliver this Mentor Coaching programme for your ICF credentialing and renewal purposes.

As defined by the ICF for the “purposes of credentialing, Mentor Coaching means an applicant being coached on their coaching skills rather than coaching on practice building, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of an applicant’s coaching skill.”

In Group Mentor Coaching you will work alongside your co-participants in four different roles as: Coach, Client, Observer and Colleague. We will discuss each ICF Core Competency at different certification levels, increasing your perspective and learning to co-create a deeper understanding of the ethics, standards and each competency involved in masterful coaching.

The programme will consist of 8 x 90-minute sessions of Group Mentor Coaching over a period of four months, meeting twice a month. You will be required to coach another participant during this period.

As part of the Group Mentor Coaching you will also complete a minimum of 3 x 60-minutes One-to-One Mentor Coaching sessions where you will provide coach recordings and a transcript (in English).

Full participation in the course will result in a Mentor Coaching certificate for your ICF application, having received a minimum of 10 hours of Mentor Coaching.

The programmes will be delivered in English online using a virtual platform.
