Facilitating Reset of Stakeholder Relationships

A national environment sector client with whom we have worked closely with over successive iterations of its frameworks for capital programme delivery sought to align stakeholders with collaborative ways of working.

WHAT THE CLIENT SAID:

Following our intervention, the project team sustained collaborative working and delivered an award-winning scheme and the integrated team highly valued how our approach had catalysed this turnaround. Our particular approach in developing and preparing key individuals and teams for the next generation of frameworks has been acknowledged and sought-after, both internally for this client and across its framework partner organisations.

What the client wanted:

Specific interventions where the process and spirit of collaborative working was at risk. These interventions included project teams in commercial tension, operational boards where the quality of dialogue was dissipating, and select teams seeking to develop learning and skills for a next generation of framework.

What we delivered:

Our efficient approach to problem solving in contexts of potential conflict enabled some project interventions to be literally one-off workshops that focused on rebuilding understanding and trust with shared values, objectives and ownership of actions. For some of the other interventions, we sensitively and confidentially liaised with key stakeholders to develop an aligned approach to behaviours and protocols both at formal and informal interactions between management team members. Our coaching-based approach to developing senior leaders’ competencies ensured that new learning and skills could be readily adopted and sustained with success.
